| Abstract: | One of the most important requirements of user management in learning environments is the common management of user information and access permissions through standardized interfaces. On the one hand different eLearning client applications and content managing server components like multimedia repositories are able to access a common database for user and access information. On the other hand a guaranteed independence of application specific eLearning data models from the users, groups, roles and access permissions is provided. In this article we describe a corresponding solution for a user management in eLearning environments on the basis of a three-tier architecture with the help of appropriate tools for the access control layer in the middle. |
