Abstract: As Part of the German GDI-GRID research project a LINUX version of LimA has been ported onto GRID computer clusters. The enhanced calculation power and fast data access facilities are used to perform noise mapping in combination with an instant data collection and preprocessing in line with EU INSPIRE standards. To enable processing of very large areas all these steps need to be processed automatically and in related order. Within GRID computing extra tools are available to support this and the use of such tools will be described in more detail. Workflow strategies may also be applied in a normal WINDOWS environment, based on LimA's macro abilities. A couple of examples will be presented where users can solve complex customised tasks by starting a single macro, which orchestrates a specific workflow. Thus speeding up project work and reducing the risks of human errors.
