Abstract: Blockchain is an emerging technology, with a lot of applications in everyday life. It will provide significant opportunities to disrupt traditional services due to the distributed, decentralized nature of blockchains. The main features such as the permanence of the blockchain record, and the ability to run smart contracts are able to disrupt current business models. These features make blockchain technology-based products or services significantly different from previous internet-based developments and of particular interest to the education sector. Although in education, is not currently perceived to be high on the agenda of most institutes of higher education. Moreover, current stakeholders within education are largely unaware of the social advantages and potential of blockchain technology. This presentation was produced to address this gap.
